Operation Shore Patrol

The Pacific Northwest Four Wheel Drive Association has worked with Washington State Parks and the Department of Ecology since 1971 to coordinate the removal of unsightly litter and debris while focusing attention to the environmental impacts to citizen's health, safety and welfare.

The event occurs on the third weekend in September each year.  Volunteers meet at three locations (Ocean Shores, Twin Harbors, and Cape Disappointment), where PNW4WDA members assign them to a section of beach to be cleaned up.

The PNW4WDA received a Take Pride in America award for Non-Profit Organizations in 2004 for its work on Operation Shore Patrol in 2003.  We were a semi-finalist for the award in 1991-1993.
