Inlaws new toy....
1984 Bronco II
2.8L V6

Can someone tell me what trans is in this thing? It's a 3 speed, but other than that, I'm no good at IDing ford trannies....

It's a rust bucket topside, but the frame and floor are in good shape.

I'll have pictures up later.

Now, what to do with it.... :Ducky:

cant tell you what trans but i can tell you that motor is junk. it didnt matter who made it the 2.8 is just a junk engine.

The 2.8L isn't a power house by any means....

It's adequate, but not much more. This thing seems to do OK, it's got a tow package, and what feels like 4.10 gears. No tach, but I guestimate that it's turning around 3000 or so at 50-55MPH.

The engine in it is brand spanking new from the previous owner, so that won't change anytime soon. Since there is rust through in spots under the back widows, I think I may back-half it while the In-laws are gone....:Oscar:

I registered there and will post soon.

Trans seems fine, as does the drivetrain. No funky issues. Gutless, but that's a 2.8 for ya!

Then again, being used to my XJ with the stand-up six, I might be a little biased..... :D

BII Update....
Looks like it's mine for a while!

It's got 3.45's front and rear. Not 4.10s. I figured out some issues too. Learning this little beasts "quirks"
