On May 6, more than 20 members of the Yakima/Kittitas Forest Watch Association and volunteers met at Beverly Dunes recreation area for their annual “Beverly Dunes Clean-up & Camp-out.”
It took the volunteers only three hours to completely clean-up the Beverly Dunes recreation area. Volunteers logged in a total of 59 hours picking up garbage from in and around the ORV area. Following the clean-up, volunteers had plenty of time to ride and enjoy the dunes.
Thanks to everyone who helped clean up the area!
Beverly Dunes, managed by DNR, is located in Grant County, south of Vantage, near the Crab Creek Wildlife Area. The recreation area is particularly popular with off-road vehicle (ORV) riders. The ORV area includes quad-size trails along both sides of the dunes, which are ideal for both beginners and seasoned riders alike.
For years, the Yakima/Kittitas Forest Watch Association, formerly known as the All Wheelers Off-road Club, have put in numerous volunteer hours on DNR-managed lands. We appreciate all the work volunteers do to make Beverly Dunes a better place to recreate.
