Signs and Education were'nt enough. The problem was that everyone was loving the area to death. Expect to see other changes come about.

Been a while since I have been in there.(last jamboree we had there) So I take it that you cant just park and camp anywhere anymore ? Wasnt there a plan to boild a similar type of fence up at Tripod ?

Do you know where the Crow creek campground is ? Its right across the road from that. If you head up the little naches river road from 410 the first bridge you come to on the left. cross that and longmeadow is on the left and crow creek is on the right

Thanks Jim, I know where it is now, just didn't know it by name.

What was wrong with parking on the grass? I thought the signs said we were just supposed to stay away from the area near the stream?

:dunno:

Let's hear more about the other changes you speak of.

Are we allowed inside of the fence at all? Walking? Tent camping?

A fence at Tripod was in the works. The problem was it would of been a hazard to snowmobilers. Plan was shelved.

BEST went in and did a couple barriers and the problem seems to be handled.

It is a Meadow. The biologist had posted keep off the grass numerous times but the signs were not respected and torn down by persons unknown.

If and when the travel plan is adopted changes will have an opptunity.

Yes, you may still use the area just no motorized access.

I guess in my head I do not equate Long Meadow as being the same as something like Region 4 Meadows...I realize that both names contain the word meadow, but Long Meadow is a grassy field & Region 4 is a high mountain meadow. I have never seen any signs...ever. I would think that if parking there was such a bad thing, the FS would block it off or at least mention something to all the campers parking their rigs on it. Every time I have been there, the FS staff has said nothing about keeping motorized vehicles off the grass.

The new fencing should do the trick...until some jacknut needs firewood :BANGHEAD2:

Sounds good...will keep that in mind & respect the restriction.
