August Meeting Minutes
Region 3 Minutes
21 August 2012
Region 3 Director Kyle Wiebold called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. followed by the flag salute and a moment of silence for the sick and departed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Grant Kelly’s family and John Miracle’s family.
Thirteen Clubs were present this evening including Cascade Cruisers; Flat Broke & 4-Wheeling; Hubs in; Mud Puppies; Mud-A-Rama; Our Gang Off-Road; Piston’s Wild –Oregon; Piston’s Wild –Washington; PNW Individual Member Club; Push N Pulls; Sand Fleas; Those Guys Off Road; Vancouver 4 Wheelers.

HOSTING CLUB: Thank you to 4 Wheel Parts for providing pizza this evening.
Rick Smith made the motion, seconded by Tom Fisher, that the July 2012 meeting minutes be accepted as printed. The motion carried.
Region Director Kyle Wiebold – Operation Shore Patrol Update – The camping is not free this year. Kyle needs the region to decide if we are going to participate this year. He did find a campground that will give us a discount. Driftwood RV has 35 spots and they are willing to give us all the spots for $350. This would cover the cost of the water and electricity. Marty made the motion to have Region 3 pay the $350 for camping. Carol Jensen 2nd the motion. The motion carried. Region 3 will provide $200 for food for the picnic. Please let Kyle know if you will be attending by September 5, 2012.
Vice Director Tom Fisher – No Report
Secretary Margaret Schiedler– Turned in meeting minutes to Tri-Power.
Treasurer Rick Levine – Gave the treasurer report for July.
Public Relations James August – Absent – Jamal with ODF is asking for clubs to adopt trails. The trails that are available are: Ample and Alluring, Truck Dent and Stick in the Nose. Please contact Jamal if your club is interested in adopting a trail.
Competition Marty Tilford –Region 3 had a good showing for Summer Convention. The track was fun and fast. Region 3 Women’s Team Relay took 1st place. Region 3 Men’s Team Relay took 2nd place. Marty is requesting $100 for the playground at Ethel on behalf of Overboard Racing.
Oregon Land Matters Jeff Bowman – Absent. Trail construction at La Dee Flats is starting! Those Guys Off-road are looking for volunteers to help. The next work party is Saturday, August 25, 2012. Meet up across from Promitory at 9 am. For more information, please go to Those Guys Off Road Facebook page for more details.
Washington Land Matters Kira Dominiak –Absent. Kira has turned in her resignation. She is moving to be with her husband in North Dakota. We wish them well in their new adventure. Kyle is hoping someone will volunteer for this position. Please take it back to your clubs.
Club Power/We Did It/Quill Power Don and Carol Jensen – Carol is still waiting for a response that the projects turned in have been accepted.
IAD Don and Carol Jensen– Recreation Trail Program have passed the house. This is a federal program. The Governors can decide if they are going to support the program. It is important to have your voice heard. Please contact your Governor by September 1, 2012.
Ways and Means Kristen Smith– Absent.
Open Nominations for Competition Chairman. Rick Smith nominated Marty Tilford and he accepted the nomination. Region Director closed the nomination until next month.
Looking for volunteers on September 8, 2012 (tentative date), to help make improvements to Waterfall trail at Brown’s Camp. Please contact Earl Freimuth for more information and confirmation of date.

Hi Margaret, thanks for the putting the notes up. Sorry I couldn't make the meeting due to a family commitment. As a point of clarification for the La Dee work party this weekend, we will actually be meeting at the 800 trail, which is up the hill from Promitory.
