BLM Resource Advisory Council

Just got a letter from DC re-appointing me to the OHV position on the John Day/Snake Resource Advisory Council for another three year term, expiring on Sept. 30, 2016.

This RAC works with the Baker Resource Area on the Vale District, most of the Prineville District, and with the Umatilla, Ochoco, Malhuer, and Wallow-Whitman National Forests, and H*ll's Canyon NRA. We also have recreation RAC authority within our boundaries for the fee program with BLM and can also do that for USFS if requested.

We will have a meeting on the 14-15 of Nov., 2013. Meetings are open to the public. This one will be at the Prineville District offices in Prineville, OR

***EDIT*** Meeting for Nov. 14&15, 2013 is cancelled. We are looking at January, 2014 after the holidays.

John Day/Snake RAC meeting has now been rescheduled for the afternoon of the 9th and morning of the 10th of January, 2014. It will be held at the new Umatilla National Forest headquarters building out by Wildhorse Casino on the east side of Pendleton, OR.

Public is welcome to attend and there is always a public comment period.

As always, if you have an issue you want brought up, please feel free to contact me here via PM or email or our club contact phone #.

The times for the meeting in Pendleton are as follows:

Thursday, Jan. 9th--Noon to 5PM, with a sub group meeting from 10 to noon on the John Day River fee plan.

Friday, Jan. 10th--* AM to 12:45 with a public comment period @10.30AM.

Meeting will be held at the Umatilla Forest headquarters, across from Wildhorse Casino/Hotel complex.

Everyone is welcome to attend and offer comments for the USFS/BLM people to hear as well as the RAC members. Always looking for input on the projects we are working on.

For me as OHV representative, right now it is the Baker RMP revision and the areas for OHV use in that planning area, and the ongoing Wallow/Whitman NF TMP, and trying to get class II trails established.

All times are GMT -7. The time now is 05:56 PM.
