My new Toy, Brutus!

First ever in this forum, wow!

Well let me break the ice and tell ya about myself and my new wallet shrinker!

My obsession started when I lived in Colorado and began wheeling a 1985 Toyota 4Runner SR5. I ended up selling that vehicle when I moved from CO and had yearned for a new one since.

A couple years ago I picked up a 1988 Toyota 4Runner SR5 (love the 1st Gens), that had a blown motor. I ended up swapping in a later generation 3.4 V6 from a Tacoma and a few other mods (link to build here: http://www.yotatech.com/f116/88-4run...ay-1-a-238615/). Though I had many plans I ended up stagnating on its progression due to the time needed to get it where I wanted and space issues (renting and no garage).

I decided a replacement was needed that was in a more ready state that I could also modify to fill my tinkerer itch but can be used immediately for camping, etc. I decided on a 3rd generation 4Runner (1996 - 2002) and set to looking for a suitable vehicle.

After looking at a good number of them I came across this super clean 1997 Toyota 4Runner SR5 and instantly fell in love with it. Here is the link to the build thread for those interested in following its progress.. which will be a little slow at first due to money concerns: http://www.yotatech.com/f200/brutus-...r-sr5-279234/.

And some pics for those who may want to jump over there hehe:
