Naches Trail vs Manastash Ridge Trails

I feel that Ceg raises a good point...

http://www.pnw4wda.org/forums/showthread.php?t=73

I think we need to have a seperate section for the Naches/Manastash area trails...the actual Naches Trail is a completely separate animal.

I agree too many people refer to the Manashtash as Naches.

I have been told it is because of the Naches River and Little Naches are near the trails on the South side of the Manastash Ridge is why people call it Naches.

Naches is fine for that trail. But after that the Manastash Ridge (as a generic name) about covers everything else up that way. Rimrock works (as a generic name). Liberty too. But what about Van Epps, Gallagher, Clover Springs, Glass creek, and the whole slew of others not covered by a generic name. I think perhaps covering an area by the FS or DNR district is a somewhat better way. Still there would be problems.

I use the Wash Dot Mountain Pass website for info. They have a map that list the pass's. http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/passes/ Click on the pass you desire and it links you to info about that pass. Perhaps someone knows how to set up such a feature for here. You get info and access threads about areas just by clicking on the maplink you desire.

Seems a lot of people call the Manastash Ridge Trails area "Naches" even though it may not be really be called that. You can see it all over the internet. Pokey knows.

Not that there are many trails around Clover Springs but a lot of us call that "above the Nile" since that area is kind of away from anything else. Again not it's real name but local wheelers know where that is.

Another idea;
You could just put all the places under the different PNW4WDA Regions and then use the trail numbers to talk about them. Of couse Beverly, Moses Lake and Juniper would have to still be called areas.

I thought these were in the Salmon La Sac area?

Trail numbers are hard for folks to follow...I think the area should be used (ie Manastash Ridge), but having a seperate section for Naches Trail makes sense.

I think that too but giving options since the name thing seems to be a problem with some.
