why can't i find an egr valve?!

i'm looking for an egr valve and all the parts stores are finding parts they don't carry but "can possibly order" them they range in price from $25.00 to $144.00....

i kept tinkering and fixed a $2.00 pcv valve and it passed with room to spare. i don't know how to delete a post of i would delete it.

chilton's does not tell me if i need to use silicone sealant or not.
do i use that on the intake and exhaust manifold gaskets?
