Notes from the meeting
Notes from the Elbe focus group meeting 3/10/2011
Updates and past happenings
Problems with “kids” using the campground for parties and such. They have figured out how to reserve the campground and are abusing the system to hold parties. (Non-wheelers)
Issues with people doing doughnuts in the Lions club parking lot and spraying gravel everywhere. If you park there please treat the property like your own (or better).
Eric the manager from 4 wheel parts in Tacoma was there tonight to promote a fun run they are having at Elbe on the weekend of March 26th and 27th. Proceeds from this event will be donated to wheelers for the wounded. There will be flyers at the Moonshiners swapmeet and at the 4 wheel parts store in Tacoma. A breakfast will be served on sat. Pre registration is suggested as there is a 150 vehicle limit.
Bust Bee logging. The Busy Bee logging project is back on and will be starting in late April. The work will be done during the week and the trails open on weekends.
Upcoming workparty on the 30th of April and the 1st of May. This is the annual PNW4WDA work party held every year. Dogpound off road will be providing lunch on the trails.
County line 4x4s will be doing a post fun run trash cleanup in the next couple of weekends.
Nancy is submitting 2 grants in April for the Elbe hills ORV Park. One is an M&O grant which will request moneys for a small tractor as well. The other is for a grant to plan for an expansion of the campground and facilities.
