Oregon has a couple of agencies managing for it. Oregon Dept of Forestry takes care of the state forests and the harvest there. Tillamook trail system is a very good example of the cooperation with them.

The Division of State Lands takes care of most other state ground, and they manage for the commom school fund.

Walden's speech was concerning federal ground only and getting some kind of sustainable harvest level that was called for in the 1990 Northwest Forest Plan.

BTW, now they want to kill barred owls to hold back the takeover from the spotted cousins, but all are federally protected as raptors. Good luck with that.
