Yep most all of the DJ's (refered to as "dispatcher jeep") were 2wd, mostly for the postal routes. I have heard of a few 4wd units, but not positive for sure how true it was. Would not doubt it as jeep did a lot of one-offs and custom stuff.. The first picture was the "surry" Generally used for transporting guests at the big fancy resorts and hotels back then. Even available in what would now be refered to as hot pink.
