Wilson Electronics recently released a new cellphone booster. It's a 2watt system. I'm running a 3watt system in my towrig. At Jim Sprick park at Naches I have a consistent 2bars of service on the Verizon 1X or Edge network. I can call and slowly surf the internet with the booster. Works at Elbe parking lot. I've also used the booster on my work Verizon USB modem.

This could be useful.......say for instance you need to have some parts picked up on the way over to Trail Jam for some poor soul who is already broken and the event hasn't even started yet? Yea, I could see a use for that. Thanks for the info. Does this mean you can go jeeping on the days you have pager duty? I hope so.

No, it doesn't work with the pager. Very different frequency. Also, if there's an emergency I need to be there within one hour. It usually takes at least 1hr to get to my work truck from home. Another 20-40minutes to arrive on scene.
I decided to get the booster after helping Eric from 4WP last year. When he busted the oddball axle flange that only Rob S. had in Western Washington. I knew it was time. I had to stand on my tire facing a certain direction to call for 83' Chevette disc brake parts and spare axle shafts. The booster does work better when on the Dodge. I think because of more metal and better ground plane. I hope not to use it for medical emergencies. However, it's there.

The 2watt Wilson Sleek. It works great. It's also more durable than the 3watt system. You will need a bluetooth, speakerphone, headset or MagicJack. I found the MagicJack at a local RadioShack for $10. The MagicJack worked great at Trailjam.

I misspoke. It was a Jupiter Jack. I also found it today at Wal Mart.
