Default New area to wheel ?

Well maybe. The Pacific ranger district in Forks Wa. is proposing a new OHV area mainly aimed for quads and such. I had a long talk with Tim Davis the project leader and NEPA specialist and we discussed the need for 4x4 opportunities out there. Much of this proposed system is using existing and abandoned roads which would be a perfect fit for 4x4 vehicles. They hadn't really looked at us as a user but they have my attention now And I theirs. I'm in the process of doing some research on the exact numbers of trail miles the quads already have on the peninsula compared to our one legal trail at Sadie creek. We need to jump on this as the deadline is coming up on May 21. I will be posting some sample comments in the next few days. We cant let this opportunity for new trails slip by us so be prepared to write. Thanks Jim

Attached ( I hope ) are the scoping letter map and the MUVM map for the forest.

Once again this forum wont let me load PDFs with maps and such

Being originally from the Peninsula, I fully understand the need for more 4x4 area over that way... Sending a letter to show support in the next couple days...

I was out there yesterday. It's a long drive thats for sure. We had the wifes car so I didn't head up to where the system is planned but just talked to a couple of the rangers and picked up some maps of the area. Need to head back out there in the next couple of weeks with the truck or the jeep.
