Default Balancing bead locks?

Sometime next month I am going to be installing my used Walker Evans bead locks.

Here is my question......is there a good cheap way to balance them? I've heard guys putting 8-10 oz of soft pellets (from air soft pellet guns) in when they mount the tires. Does that work? Or is it better to purchase the packets of ceramic beads?

These are going on a daily driver that sees mostly hi-way travel.

Thanks in advance for the ideas/help

I would tend to think the plastic ones would wear down in a DD. Not heard of the ceramic ones but would fear the same thing. Seems like just plain BBs would hold up the best. I have a chart for the amount per tire size. Let me see if I can find it.

The previous owner of the wheels used ceramic beads, they were really really small and you could hear them when rolling the tires around the shop.

I would think you would be able to hear the steel BB's "plinking" on the wheel at low speeds or when coming to a stop vs. the airsoft BB's?

Thanks for the chart, that will come in handy
