Default Dunes Qs

Hello

A bunch of us are headed down to Rubicon in a week. Our return trip is intending to take us up the Oregon Coast. We would like to visit the dunes.

We will all be driving our vehicles, no tow rigs. Mostly Jeeps, a Sidekick and maybe an Xterra. no smaller than 33" rubber.

Looking for some recommendations.

Best place to camp? Facilities? G/F would love a place with a shower. Alternatively a cheap, but good hotel/motel/etc.

Best part of the dunes to visit and play in?

Naturally, we need a spot to drive on the beach.

Tags and flags easily available?

Any other permits we may need?

Other info?

thanks
Wes

I would suggest either Horsefall or spinreel campgrounds. You can travel between the two from the dunes. What days do you thing you'll be going? Heres a couple of links. If you can't find what you need in the links let me know and I'll see if I can help you out.

all depends on how our Rubicon trip goes. Ideally, I think we may be there late on the 15th, or more likely the 16th.

thanks for the info

Ended up not getting to the Dunes till the 17th. Spent the afternoon evening on the dunes and beach south of Florence. Stayed at the Lagoon camp site.
