Is there somewhere where this is in writing? Something I can copy and keep in my Jeep in case of getting pulled over?

Just what I was told by the ranger from white river. The FS dosent always have their ducks in a row when bringing these plans into play.

I just got back from Billy Bobs and Bob was telling me that the LEO is up there on the FS roads getting people for not having mud flaps.
He also said that the LEO told one guy that he had to keep his mud flaps on even while on trails.
I have a hard time believing this but Bob was as serious as a heart attack. Has anyone heard about the mud flap rule?
I can see on the roads and even a little on the FS roads but trails. C'mon. Evans is getting boring real quick.
Saw it over on the PNWJeep forum.

I cant see where this would be true simply because you dont have to have flaps on rigs that arnt street legal. Anyway I sent a note to the LEO asking about this and will post his responce when I get it.

From Ian the FS LEO.

Nobody has received a ticket from me for a mud flap violation within Evans and flaps and other equipment violations do not apply on trails. In fact I can't think of the last ticket I wrote at Evans. I'm sure "Bob" means well but in this case he has, or has been given bad information.

THX. Ian.

Alright, I have been reading this and have to vent a bit. So PNW4WDA has been donating our time and efforts to maintaining Evans Creek. We also spend time as an organization and clubs hosting the campground. How will this pan out when we no longer show up to clean up trash and maintain trails that we can no longer run?

Many of us are still planning on coming and taking care of the park as we always have.
