When camping what do you sleep in?
If you camp in more than one, vote for the most thing you sleep in.
Post up all the things you sleep in.

I have camped in all the above some time in my life. This last year I slept in my Tow rig most of the times, my tent a lot and my XJ a few times.

The last few years before I mainly slept in a motor home I use to have.

Before the motor home we had an 8.5 camper. That was small and had no toilet.

Before the camper we had a travel trailer. That sucked because we always had to take at least two rigs for the type camping we did. Horse or wheelin' camping trips.

I hope to buy another camper in the next month. My way future plans are to buy a 5wheel enclosed car trailer and add living quarters.

We were in an 8x8 tent, then a tent trailer that we built, then a 20 foot motor home, now back to a 10x17 tent, with a real bed, and she can cook in one end. Most all of the gear will fit in the big cherokee, or we can also take the 6x12 trailer. Working on a little smaller trailer (80 Toy 4x4 long box, cause it has the flares).

I have a decent North Face tent to use, but if the tow rig is near...I usually sleep in the truck canopy.

The tent...

I have a tent trailer that I have used for years. I would tow it behind my CJ-5 and set it up then go trail run or race it. Then when I was done I would close it up and tow it home. I did that from Feb. 1999 till August of 2005. We then decided to get a tow rig. Now the only problem was, what to get to sleep in and still be able to take the Jeep. I got a little creative, since my tent trailer was paid for and we didn't really have a ton of money to get a enclosed toy hauler, this is what I did. I ordered a custom built car trailer from Bulldog Trailers. Its a 24 foot long deck with leveling jacks on all 4 corners, and a longer tounge then standard. With it hooked up to my tow rig I hook the tent trailer to my CJ-5 and back it on to the car trailer. With it on the car trailer we tie it down and have plenty of room for either one of my Jeeps or quads. When we get to where we want to camp all we do is back the Jeep off and put the trailer up right on top of the car trailer. We don't even need to untie the tent trailer or unhook the truck. The only down side is to get in and out of the tent trailer we use a 3 step stool. I'm working on a better way to get in and out and to add a party pad (you will have to wait and see it ). It only takes about 10 min. to get it loaded and tied down. It my version of a Toy Hauler.

We camped with a large Costco tent for years. Finally bit the bullet. We now have a truck camper. I looked at marty tilford's setup at one time. I loved it. If I already owned the large trailer or popup the decision would've been easy. Because of the truck camper we recently did our first winter camping. No problems.

I split my time out between camping out of a milatary trailer on the trail. Dispersed camping in a truck camper. And time at the "Little House On the Nile". Time away from the wetside is "Good".
