I think your reaction was warranted. No dog should be treated like that.

As for the shock collars...The dogs probably just wanted to get away from the abuse! As said in this discussion, turn the shock collars to the owners and "light them up".....

I had the same idea, hang those collars about 6 inches below belt level, and empty a water bottle to make sure of good contact.

I'm taking a Criminal Justice Course, at some point later this year or next. we get to play with tazers.

Now, lets see what happens to the owners then!!

Dan I believe 12 volts would be enough, it is the 1000 amps you can draw from the batteries that would "light them up!"

Just wondering, did you happen to keep the numbers....call the local humane, animal control or whatever and tell them about your experience. Even beasts of burden are entitled to protection. Just a thought.....

Thanks Beth that sounds like a good idea. Probably water under the bridge now. Might be interesting what they have to say however.

Most sheriff depts will take a look at a cruelty complaint. Let them know what kind of condition the dogs were in and what was happening. Be interesting to see what would happen.
