Default New members vs activity

like new kids at school until you know what the people are like you don't know what to say without feeling stupid or feeling like you might get shot down because you don't know everything.

All I have to say is we must be doing something right because we are still on a steady pace of growth.

we may not be gaining new paying members but we are getting 6-10 new members on the forums every month except December.

Keep up the great work folks those of you that post here all the time we thank you it's because of you that people are signing up..

Congrats! Now what are you going to do with these new numbers?

1. I think a personal (not robo generated) email to every new member from the webmaster is in order.

2. I receive monthly bulletins from many of the boards I belong to. Some even send them weekly. These should go to every member unless they opt out.

3. Automatic links to the Tri-Power. Instead of a monthly/weekly bulletin. At the very minimum.

If the webmaster likes take these ideas to the March BOD meeting. If the ideas are well received claim them as yours (I give you permission). If they are not received then by all means place the blame on me.

I'll await how things go until I read about the suggested improvements in the March BOD meeting minutes.

I think I will only attend Region Meetings, they pertain more to the areas I am most interested in.

Last time I was at a BOD meeting the chair gave me the floor. I criticized a program and offered an idea. The chair called me out of order. The chair moved on. None of which appeared in the minutes.

I've been to Region meetings and offered an idea. I was told by a BOD member that if I wanted to take the idea and run with it fine. If not then I should not bring up such ideas. That the BOD is busy enough without taking on more. No discussion was given to the idea, just a flat dismissal of the idea. Neither that idea nor the BOD member's comments appear in the minutes.

The test is does the BOD listen to communication offered on this forum. I wondered when I posted this idea. I still wonder. I am a member on numerous Boards. Those other Boards do things different from here (as well they should). I only posted something (new idea) that I saw/observed on another board and thought it would be a fit here. Those other boards have no meetings, however your ideas and thoughts are given consideration. Questions seeking clarification of the suggestion are asked (often thru a pm). Some change is possible from a suggestion.

I have had it go both ways. But it has been better in the past few years.

Another thought I had is that one of the boards I am on will send me a ROBO-generated (I hate Robo-generated anythings) email suggesting that the members of that board have not heard from me for a while. It goes on to suggest maybe I would like to join one of the many conversations. That board has more threads posted in an hour than this board has in a month (maybe 2 months).

Right now this board needs to something drastic to get folks to share their ideas and conversations.
