Received an email from BRC and their legal department is currently reviewing this and will let me know soon what their position will be on the matter.

Got the same e-mail. Beth, as this is Oregon Land Use, can you answer Brian's questions any better than I am able to at this point? All I know is what's in the news stuff we all posted. I want to help, but won't go barging in on any OR/Region 5 issues without an invite. I sent an e-mail as a favor to warrpath4x4, but sure do want to at least stay informed. As I said, that's one of my favorite areas to camp, fish, etc.

Dave, be my guest in helping...it takes all of us to keep the village going. I have no specific knowledge of the area so cannot attest to the trail system. My original understanding of this project was that it involved mostly ATV use but that has now evolved into greater class II opportunities. I am still trying to make contact with the WVTRA but have had no luck so far.

Beth, will call Steve and Linda over in Boardman tonight and have them give you a call if they have any info. I know Steve was working with a group over there several years ago, and several were out of the PDX area, and most all were quad users, and had summer cabins over there, but maybe not in the specific area in question.

Dave-
Like Beth said, welcome to jump in. While I give input to W-W NF, it has been aout 17 years since I was up in the Chesnim/Sled area (Billy Meadows & Hollow Log sites). The more local knowlege we can hit with the better off we are.

Talked to Steve last night. He is getting with a friend that is up there every couple of days, and he will try to get some contact info and get back with either myself or the state director.

Hi!
Just a quick update RE OR cases...
On both Riley Ranch Road (Siuslaw) and Sled Spgs (Wallowa Whitman), the
feds recently filed answers in both cases. Nothing else pending in sled
spgs. In Riley there is a status/scheduling conf set for 3/23.

The DOJ lawyer who covered Gallatin is covering sled spgs, which is
neither good nor bad as far as we can tell, but at least we name
familiarity with her.

We still have severe budget challenges in OR and are likely looking at
amicus on Sled Springs.

I will send you the feds response as soon as I receive it.

I'll keep in touch,
Brian Hawthorne
