Default Sign say's!!!!!

Ok to explain a little about what I'm looking for.

I'm looking for a sharing of ideas.

We have all been thru the trail systems in our favorite forest. We've all seen the signs that bluntly demand that we comply with rules.

Do this!:Cob: Stay out. Go here, don't go there. Even the sign that says "Stay on the trail or stay home" is percieved by some to be blunt and cold.

How can we in a more user friendly way ask for compliance.

Do you have a favorite sign that gets the message across.

I'm serious about this. I would like to hear about what you've seen and what your reaction is to such signage.

Although there are no constraints as to how wordy the sign may be , I'm looking for something that would fit on a 12 x 16 inch or 14 x 18 inch board. Letters would be either 1" or 3/4". Different fonts are possible.

The better ideas may just in fact show up on the trail.

I like blunt and too the point . If the sign isn't serious people think its merely a suggestion.

I vote that the trails are marked in some way...something similar to snowmobile diamonds. I know you want folks to stay on the trail...so let's give them something to follow. It will keep the honest folks honest & give new visitors to the trail system something to go by...not everyone is a trail veteran & knows all the trails by heart

Also...I vote for blunt signage...get to the point & mean it.

No wiggle room on signage. Any give in it and they will stretch it max.

Tried to get BLM to half bury a bike or old quad frame out at Christmas Valley, just in the closed area......sign to say this is the last guy that violated the closure, the machine he was on is his headstone.

I agree. There should be NO doubt as to intent! Include the penalty structure as well...

The message on a sign must be clear and to the point if there could be legal repercussions when you don't abide.

The more blunt the better and I sort of like the headstone idea....
