Default Arizona 2010

Jon & I and Ward & Cherie are in Arizona for our annual spring vacation, hosted by Doug & Sue Haak. We are in Bullhead City, located in the Mohave Desert. There has been so much rain this year, particularly recently, that all the flowers are in full bloom and the hills are green with grass. Usually by now, everything would be dried out and the temperature would be too hot to play in the afternoon. However, this year we are here in April and the temperature has been in the upper 80's to mid 90's. It has been a beautiful week so far, with one more week to go.

Here are some pictures so far.

This was Day 1, Wednesday, and we were playing on Rebar Rock just a couple of miles behind Doug & Sue's house:

Day 2 was spent playing on a trail we had never been on before, it was the most beautiful canyon called Secret Pass. Then we went onto a trail named Ridges, which we have done before. Secret Pass had gorgeous rock formations, lots of flowers and a large herd of desert big horn sheep:

Day 4, Saturday, was a trip to the Lower Moss and Upper Moss trails. These trails are located outside of Kingman, Az. The concrete building was a mansion that Mr. Moss built to impress prospective investors for his mining operation:

Monday was a day off from jeeping to sleep in late and do maintenance on the rigs. Day 6, Tuesday, was a trip to the Yucca run, south of Kingman. It is not a difficult run, but it is very scenic and pretty.

As if the extreme 'wheeling that we have done over the past few days wasn't exciting enough, we decided to play with poisonous reptiles like this gila monster:

Day 7, Wednesday, was a run on the Princess Trail, located just 8 miles out of Bullhead City. It has both scenic sections and difficult sections along the run.
