Default Low Gear for Juniper Dunes Legal Access -

Status report as of July 8, 2010 - Franklin County transportation plan calls for public access to the Juniper Dunes Wilderness Area; it is one of eight road projects in the county's six-year improvement plan for 2011-2016.

It seems BLM has funding to pay for access , but has to determine how to get the money to the county for the project; $ 1.5 million project would construct the access from Pasco-Kahiotus Highway to the dunes area; the county is hoping about $1.4 million will come from the federal government. ###
