Well the days are getting longer finally and you know what that means?

Thatís right March is upon us and it's time for TWIG again! (The Naches Trails and Wilderness Interest Group meeting).

TWIG will be held on Tuesday night, March 6th, 2012 at 7PM at the Naches Ranger Station.
(Enter by the back door).

The focus of the meeting this month will be to share with the trails community where we are in the process of ramping up our (volunteers, partners, and the Forest Service) capacity to utilize volunteer resources to provide for quality system trail experiences and protect resources influenced by our trail system across the Naches Ranger District. We will look at the finalized district volunteer trails vision statement, review the volunteer coordinator program and introduce those coordinators that are identified at this time, summarize those trails that are presently requested for trail adoption (either at the Stewardship Level or at the Friends of the Trail Level), review, finalize dates and begin sign ups for upcoming training sessions (saw classes and recertifications, trail condition survey techniques, trail maintenance principles and techniques, trail leadership and safety), and unveil the volunteer projects for each user group selected by the TWIG subcommittee for 2012.

Additionally District Ranger Irene Davidson will provide an update on the decision process for the Naches Ranger District proposed spring trail closure for motorized trails.

See you there.
