Default Naches seasonal closure ruling

Dear Interested Parties,



Thank you for your comments and feedback on the 2012 Spring Trail Closure project. Attached you will find the Decision Memo and the Finding of No Extraordinary Circumstances for the project. For current information on trail restrictions, the Naches Ranger District will provide updates on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest website (http://www.fs.usda.gov/okawen/), the Recreation Report, Twitter (http://twitter.com/#!/okawennf), the Naches District Project Email-list, local radio, news releases, and signs on select Forest Service Roads.

I didn't see anything in that link saying there were going to do closures. So are we good?

There will still be a seasonal closure. This plan has changes it it to our benifit though. There is no longer a drop dead set of dates or a forest wide blanket. Trails and or areas will be looked at before decissions are made. Volunteers (adopt a trail clubs) will be alowed to get into trails ahead of time to open them up and repair issues before they become worse. The agreement allows much more cooperation between the volunteers and the Fs then there was before.

I am having issues with attaching the document but hopefully the webmaster will fix that soon. I can e-mail the document to people if they want. Just PM me youe addy. Jim

This is exciting! So what do you think the chances are of getting in there early? With the continuous snowfall this year and all.

We never know until we get there.Weather in that area is very unpredictable.
