March 2013 Minutes
Region 2 Delegates Meeting
Director Dan Morris called the meeting to order at 7:30pm.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and a moment of silence for the sick and departed was observed.
Secretary’s Report: Angie Marek made a motion to accept minutes as posted in Tri-Power and PNW4WDA forum, Derrick Clark seconded, motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report: Received two more $100 donations, about $780 dollars short of meeting our goal of returning funds for the trailer into our account. Derrick Clark made a motion, Connie Largen seconded, motion passed.
We Did It/Club Power: Forms are getting set up on the web so that we can send in our work party etc information in. Paper copies were available at this meeting.
Naches: It is very snowy. As soon as it is allowed a work party will be planned, hopefully before they open the trails for the rest of the public.
Evans Creek: Will be opening up April 1st at 12:01am. June 15th there is a scheduled work party. Bob Pacific retired, and the grants were not gotten for 2013 or 2014 season. The 2013 season is covered fund wise but not enough for 2014. We will have to come up with some ideas for funding.
Elbe: Work party scheduled for April 27/28, which will be the first work party of the year. Every month after that there will be monthly work parties; the dates are to be determined. The trailer is 100% signed over to DNR to use for their D35 Kubota equipment. Region 2 clubs that have donated need to get stickers to Brandon Marek or Jessica Bailey to place on the trailer.
Tahuya: Work party on April 20th, trash pickup 9am-noon, at noon there will be a potluck lunch, after lunch there will be equipment and trail work the rest of the day. The new trail is not yet opened; more information will be available soon.
Land Matters: Sadie Creek is being handed over to Region 1, Jim and some of his club along with some Quadra Paws and Around The Sound members are meeting up 3/23. King County is trying to buy up all the land along the north side of 410 between Enumclaw and Greenwater, along the White River. They want to keep it as recreational land. There is approximately 43,000 acres. The cost will be about 11.1 million dollars. Legislative: The two bills we were interested in did not pass, including 5391 which did not meet the cutoff date, and house bill 1632 (ATV road use) also missed the cutoff date. There was a meeting 3/20 with Forest Service at the Enumclaw office, it was basically an evaluation of local offices and what our comments/concerns with them are. Jim suggested replacing Bob Pacific with a like person. They were very understanding and listened to what was said. Talked about getting more officers to cover the south end of the trails, one officer is not enough to do that job. Also talked about getting the east and west side closures at least opening/closing at the same time. There is an article out about how Supreme Court rules that logging roads do not play a part in pollution, and is pretty informative. A copy has been given to each person who is in charge of a trail system.

Way & Means: We’ve got stickers. Derrick Clark made a motion to donate stickers to the Region 2 stickers to the DNR trailer, Connie Largen seconded, motion passed.

You can email those to the webmaster and it will get to them and might just be featured on the website!

They are working on permits and approval. September 28/29th is Doo Wop Ditty Dirt Club’s race. Rigs will need to be sound checked; some of the race sites are low 90 decibles. No Barrels Extravaganza this year.
Old Business: No old business.
New business: Truck Fest is April 13/14 at the Puyallup Fairgrounds. There should be a PR booth set up and a bunch of our rigs to show off. They will also be looking for some rigs to show off some of the products in the 4WP booths. 4 Wheel Parts have 3 more sales this year and are asking one club for each sale show up and they will give a thank you gift of $200 to your club. 4 Wheel Parts Customer Appreciation at Straddeline ORV Park is coming up; the date is to be determined but should be some time in April. Paul (4WP manager) asked that clubs start signing up for the club program and whether you purchase products online, by mail order, or in person as long as you give your club’s information and they are signed up your club will get something back at the end of the year.
