Region 3 Minutes
16 July 2013
Region 3 Director Kyle Wiebold called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. followed by the flag salute and a moment of silence for the sick and departed.
Eleven Clubs were present this evening including: Bri and Bub OffRoad; Flat Broke & 4-Wheeling; Hubs in; Mud Puppies; Mud-A-Rama; Our Gang Off-Road; Piston’s Wild –Oregon; Piston’s Wild –Washington; Push N Pulls; Sand Fleas; Trailbreakers Inc.; Vancouver 4 Wheelers.
HOSTING CLUB: Thank you to 4 Wheel Parts for providing pizza this evening.
Rick Smith made the motion, seconded by Ryan Reusser, that the June 2013 meeting minutes be accepted as printed. The motion carried.
Region Director Kyle Wiebold – Thank you Our Gang Off Road and Just Wheeling for putting on the Rock Crawl event. There was quite a few clubs that volunteered to help with the event and your participation was much appreciated. Kyle attended Life is a Journey Poker Run put on by Piston’s Wild and he had a great time.
Vice Director Tom Fisher – No Report.
Secretary Margaret Schiedler– Turned in June meeting minutes to Tri-Power.
Treasurer Rick Levine – Gave the treasurer report for June. Kristen Smith made motion to accept the report as read. Ryan Reusser 2nd the motion. Motion Carried.
Public Relations Bill Hutchens – Absent
Competition Marty Tilford – Region 3 Run Offs were held Fourth of July Weekend at Ethel. Men Team consists of: Derek Mathany---Team Captain, Darel Crowder, Mickey J. Alexander, Jr., Larry Curtis, Robert Ammons.
Women Team consists of: Crystal Crowder-----Team Captain, Jamie Skubal, Lisa Zentner, Jamie Ammons, Serena Trexter. Summer Convention will be held at the Monroe Adventure Park in Monroe, WA August 9-11th hosted by Future 4 Wheelers.
Oregon Land Matters Jon Halleaux –Absent Update was given on La Dee Flats – Chaz with Grand Crawlers is now the main contact for La Dee Flats. Randy Drake updated the delegation regarding legislation. He informed us on the happenings in Southern Oregon and around the state. There will be a Quack Attack Work Party the first weekend in August. Deschutes County 4 Wheelers held their Groundhog Rock Crawl. They are very excited that they have received sponsors this year and some really great prizes.
Washington Land Matters Ryan Wells – Absent Crystal Crowder, President of Piston’s Wild gave an update on the Yacolt Burn and answered questions from the delegation.
Club Power/We Did It/Quill Power Don and Carol Jensen – Absent Tom Fisher turned in Club Power for the Rose Festival.

Ways and Means Kristen Smith– The website is still a work in progress. They are hoping that the online store will be up and running soon. Region 3 stickers are available for $3.00 or 2 for $5.00.
Membership Kristen Smith– Kristen will have membership packets available at Fall Delegates meeting. She has a new number for the PNW4WDA members. 971-225-8212. Please use this phone number when you are contacting Kristen regarding PNW4WDA business.
OLD BUSINESS – Winter Convention update – Kyle let the delegates know that everything was on track for Winter Convention. The theme this year will be a “Southern Twist”. Kyle is looking for a sponsor for Friday night hospitality room. The sponsorship would be for $1000.00. He is talking to some businesses and would consider clubs sponsoring the hospitality room. If you would like to sponsor the room, please contact Kyle Weibold. Winter Convention will be held on February 7-9, 2014.
Piston’s Wild held their first poker run in the Tillamook Forest. Life is a Journey poker run had 33 people attend. Of the 33 people 31 had never attended an organized off road event. Daystar and Woody’s gave cash donations and ARB donated a fridge/freezer. The group made $1320 which was split 3 ways between Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, University Fire Power Trail Fund and Yacolt Burn Trail Fund.
Rick Smith thanked Piston’s Wild of Oregon and Washington for adopting University Fire Power. Rick Smith thanked the clubs that volunteered at the Sprint Boat races.
Crystal Crowder let the delegates know that the 2nd Annual No Roads Required will be held on September 14, 2013. She advised the delegates that Fast Specialties was at capacity last year and is looking to possibly change the venue to PIR. The cost would be $1000.00 and she is hoping that PNW would be willing to put up half of the cost to move it to a bigger venue. Everyone was in agreement that it would be good exposure. Earl Freimuth made motion to donate $500.00 to Fast Specialist to help cover the cost of the new venue rental. If the move does not happen then the monies would be returned to PNW Region 3. Ryan Reusser 2nd the motion. Kyle requested that the PNW Region 3 would need to be displayed as an event sponsor. The motion carried.
