Default Wa HB2579

Not a 4WD bill, but affects some of the members.

Would do away with the Gold and Fish book and put in place a $150.00 permit for small scale mining and prospecting. Has not been scheduled for a hearing yet, but referred to the House Ag and Natural Resources Committee.
Contact Rep. Brian Blake stating you do not want this one to get a hearing, and give valid reasons why not. He can be contacted at 360-786-7870 or via email at; blake.brian@leg.wa.gov.

There are enough regulations in place for fish protection now and the Gold and Fish book very clearly spells out where and when work is allowed. This will be the first step in ending mining and prospecting in Washington, and will be the start of what is happening in California and Oregon with the restrictions on small suction dredges that are actually beneficial to fish by loosing up gravels and removing lead and mercury from the waters of the state.
