Default Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route

This didn't seem to fit in any of the above categories, so I posted it here.

This is a page I set up with some descriptions and photos from my 4 day trip on the southern 2/3rds of the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route. I plan on doing the northern 1/3rd this August.

It would be great to see your run reports in the run reports and pics section.

If you wish to have them moved there we can.

But they are also a nice contribution here. Let us know.

While there are some maps out and about on this one, it never legally happened (as a back country discovery route) and most of it is not signed, though most routes are open. The agencies involved did not follow NEPA on it, and got sued over it, and pulled it just as it was starting to be signed. Goes through a lot of beautiful country.

Yeah there is no official government acknowledgment of this route, but privately folks obviously recognize it. All roads, trails, etc. are government owned, so if you follow the route mapped out at the OBCDR website, you won't be at risk of trespassing and no one (other than a government agency) can impede your right to travel the route.
