Statewide Off-Highway Vehicle Alliance Development Meeting
Sunday, January 8, 2006
REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
Renton, WA: On November 5-6 thirty-five off-highway vehicle enthusiasts
participated in a National Off-Highway Vehicle Association Development Workshop
and an AMA “Ride Into Political Action” Seminar. The outcome of the weekend was
a decision by the participants to develop a statewide association that can
represent the interests of off-highway motorcycle, ATV and four-wheel drive
enthusiasts and OHV businesses.
Ed Bushnell, President of the North West Outdoor Coalition and one of the
workshop participants, states, “The NWOC is in full support of the development
of a new umbrella organization for Washington State. The Northwest Motorcycle
Association further supports the proposed action according to Rick Dahl,
President of the NMA. “NMA believes a great opportunity for the motorized
community in Washington State is before us and actively supports the efforts to
form the proposed Washington OHV Alliance."
Formal development of the Alliance will take place in two meetings held over the
next six months. A Development meeting is scheduled for Sunday, January 8 from
9:30 am to 3:30 pm at the Automotive Building Rotunda, Clover Park Technical
College in Lakewood. A final Incorporation meeting will be scheduled for early
spring.
The Development meeting agenda will include work on the Alliance mission,
establishment of an action plan, selection of interim officers, identification
of necessary committees, and assignment of responsibilities. The meeting is open
to anyone with an interest in OHV recreation. Assigned tasks and schedules will
be sensitive to family and work obligations.
Registration is required. A Registration Packet is attached. For further
information please contact Ann Vance at 800-348-6487 or at avanc@nohvcc.org.
There will be no on-site registration.
The National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council as part of its State OHV
Association Development Program will coordinate the WA OHV Alliance Development
Meeting in cooperation with NWOC, AMA District 27, NMA and PNW4WDA.
Be part of history and help create a positive future for OHV recreation in
Washington!
