TRAIL JAMBOREE: was successful and everyone had a great time. We understand that Dash Plaques will be mailed out. The food was good, and the entertainment in the evenings seemed to go well. Discussion followed on getting more people involved, we need more security on the front gate, 24-7.

PR Chairman Jim Hall (Jeeping Nomads) has had shoulder surgery, but he is still able to send out notifications.

TRAVEL MANAGEMENT PLAN is still a work in progress.

NACHES COLLABORATIVE is having a working group meeting July 19th at the Naches Ranger Station from 12:30 4:30 PM. The Steering Committee meets regularly, Ron Rutherford (Jeeping Nomads) represents us.
Point of interest, the logging on the Huckleberry, Dry Creek and Glass Angel and Tower are active sights.

TRAIL PARTNERS signage is being put up. Ron Rutherford was in charge of getting this done, he got material donated for the signs and a local high school routered and finished them, (they look great). Doug Conner (Roamin Chariots) helped the Jeeping Nomads put the signs up in the Rim Rock Area. People commented that the Forest Service really did a good job on the signs the only thing Forest Service did was OK the job.

TAPASH working group meeting July 19th at the Naches Ranger Station 12:30 4:30 PM.

Desert Rats Earl Nettnin reported that part of our club were trail hosts at Jamboree and some did the TECH Inspection. Our host group did a work party on Monday before Jamboree to fix a puncheon on the Naches Trail.

Columbia Basin Sand Commandos Ed Massey said one of their club was a trail host at Jamboree. They all plan to attend Pick Up A Mountain in September.

Roamin Chariots - Doug Conner reported they went to the Jeeping Nomads annual get together at Rim Rock. They had a good time putting out signs and picking up garbage. Gary Lease from the Forest Service came up and asked if they could haul out some garbage that they had bagged. Gary had with him the new person who was hired to run the trail machines. Doug also said they hauled out a very used up trailer, it did have tires on it, but didn't hold much air so they had fun getting it out.

Midnite Mudders John Thompson said some went to Trail Jamboree and had a good time. Tori said the river was cold and she learned that she would not sing Karaoke again. John said they were having a car wash on Saturday, July 14th at the Firestone dealer on Road 68 in Pasco, WA to help a family in Finley who lost their wife and mother. Donation jars are out in the community. See the Mudders Facebook page for more information.

Trail Seekers Skip Frans said a couple of them attended the Northwest Overlanders Rally. He did his Ham Radio presentation. A couple of their club went to Liberty. He hosted with Cascade 4X4's at Trail Jamboree. They plan to go to Pick Up A Mountain.

The donations for the Ramynke family at Trail Jamboree was quite successful. If you would like to make a donation to the family contact PNW President Angie Marek at

Doug Conner stressed that we really need to get our young people involved in the PNW or the trails we know and love will go away. A lot of us are getting older and just can't keep doing all the work. Lots of discussion followed on this. We have no answer as to how to do this, but we need to do something.
