Might not be really new, but from what I've heard, it is here and in test phase. Our RAC Chair is from Oregon DEQ out of LaGrande. He lined up the tour and presentation on the torrefaction reactors in Boardman. Seems that it holds promise for low emission alternative to gas and coal.

Your friend is more than welcome to attend our meeting on Friday, from 8 to 4, will be at Port of Morrow building (Sand Hollow Conference Room) across from River Lodge.

Meeting today with Congressman Dan Newhouse to kick around some of the issues about access, road closures, staff turnover, and general annoyance with the USFS. Earl and Sande Nettnin, Dave McMains, Kay Lloyd from BRC, and myself will be in on this project. Hopefully a couple others can join us.
