Dated, but still interesting:
In an effort to help prevent the Sierra Club from shutting down more off-road areas, we've decided to post an updated list of companies that actively help fund the Sierra Club's projects. While we don't expect this to cause the Sierra Club to close its doors, we do know that several companies including Camelbak, REI, and The North Face have recently stopped offering their support after being exposed as donors. We urge you, whenever possible, to avoid giving your business to companies that support the Sierra Group so we can help keep public off-roading areas open! Companies That NO LONGER Support the Sierra Group: Camelback REI New Belgium Brewing Co. Patagonia The North Face Outdoor Gear Travelocity Current 2010 Sierra Club Donors: Adobe Systems, Inc. Aerojet Aetna American Express Ameriprise Financial Amgen Anheuser Busch Bank Of America Bank of New York Bank of the West Black & Decker Boeing Bristol Myers Squibb Chevron Coca-Cola Expedia, Inc. Exxon Mobil GE Glaxo Smith Kline GMAC Financial Services Goldman, Sachs & Co. Greater Horizons Honeywell International Houston Endowment, Inc. HSBC IBM Johnson & Johnson JustGive.org Levi Strauss Lexis Nexis Macy’s Markel Corp. Merced Systems, Inc. Merrill Lynch & Co. Microsoft National Semiconductor Nestlé Pepsico Pfizer Progressive Insurance SAP Sage Publications, Inc. State Farm T. Rowe Price TPG Capital, L.P. Tyco Electronics United Technologies The Vanguard Group, Inc. Verizon Yahoo! Inc.

No surprize's there. I would suggest looking up the anti-acesser's that Cabela's supports. That may surprize you.

Here is the link to their conservation page. http://www.cabelas.com/content.jsp?p...s821%3Bcms9113
These are some of the Orgs. they support. Many are anti motorized access. One comes to mind as to actively working to close an area on the East Coast. The same group did threaten a lawsuit concerning the Bull Trout in the Northwest. Click on some of the Logo's and learn about the Orgs Cabela's supports. I found this page from surfing their (Cabela's) main homepage. I googled their name to find the info. I have done this with many other major business's where I shop. If I followed my conscience I would not have many places to shop. I do somewhat structure my purchase's from what I find but it is difficult. |

Chevron is on the list.
I work at Chevron now after retiring from the Navy. They have a program that they will donate cash to an organization in my name if I donate hours to them. They will also match dollar for dollar up to $1000 my donation to a non-profit (501 (c) 3) organization. They have given $500 to the Cal4Wheel Foundation in my name, and I am documenting my hours for work with BlueRibbon Coalition also for a donation to them as well. I think they are on that list, as some of the employees donate to Sierra Club, and that puts Chevron's Name on that list. Todd. |
