Default September Region 3 Meeting Minutes

The September 20, 2016, Region 3 meeting was called to order by Region Director Marty
Tilford at 7:09 pm, followed by a moment of silence for the sick and departed. The
meeting was held at 4 Wheel Parts in Portland, Oregon.
Following clubs were represented: Dirt Minions, Flat Broke and 4 Wheelin’, Hubs In 4
Wheelers, Mud a Rama, Pistons Wild-Washington, PNW Individual Members, Sand
Fleas, Trailbreakers and Vancouver 4 Wheelers.
Guest: Dean Litkie from the Sons of the Beaches. Getting the paperwork together to
become PNW members.
Rick Smith moved to approve the August meeting minutes. Seconded by Kristin Smith,
Motion passed.
Officer reports:

Region Director Report:
Marty reported on the Fall Delegate’s meeting. Following are highlights from the
meeting:
Steve Zentner was elected Competition Chairman.
Nominations were opened for 2017 Officers and will be re-opened at Winter Convention
Nominated were: President-Dan Morris, Secretary-Sande Nettnin, Treasurer-Dave
McMains, IAD#1-Don Jensen, IAD#2-Carol Jensen.
Dues have been paid to Blue ribbon Coalition, SEMA and Tread Lightly!
Summer Convention results and a donation to the Ethel track fund of $1039
Donation to the Ammons family of $6000+ for living expenses due to illness in the
family (That’s a big part of what the association does. Caring for members)
Scholarship applications must be in before the gavel at Winter Convention.

Randy Drake nominated for Oregon State Director
Washington Executive Director resigned
Edward Campbell is the interim Washington State Director
WOHVA (Washington Off Highway Vehicle Alliance) is supporting Steve McLaughlin
for Washington Commissioner of Public Lands
PR has ordered new plaques for supporting members
PR meeting at Winter Convention
Washington State Representative to NOHVCC (National Off Highway Vehicle
Conservation Council) is Angie Marek.
Event insurance questions contact Carol Jensen
Kyle is working on getting Tri-Power out to the members.
Region 3 bid for the fall Delegate’s Meeting 2017 was accepted. Teresa will work on the
meeting details.

Marty presented Tom of 4 Wheel Parts his plaque for his sponsorship of the PNW.
Special thanks to Tom and 4 Wheel Parts.
Vice-president: Kristin is working on membership with the Sons of the Beaches and one
other club is pending.
Treasurer report: Teresa moved to accept the treasurer’s report as presented. Seconded by
Greg. Motion passed.
Competition report; NW Expo is September 24
th
. It is a points event.
Oregon Land Matters: Kingsley still closed because of fire restrictions. Nothing new on
LaDee.
Washington Land Matters: Working on Old Ugly—worked all weekend. Will be open to
the public in October. The trails are closed—roads are open.
We Did It: Operation Shore Patrol turned in.
IAD: Getting ready for the NAMRC (North American Motorized Recreation Council)
meeting.
PR: Teresa had a great time at Operation Shore Patrol.
Old business- Beach cleanup. Tony shared a letter from the Mayor of Long Beach,
thanking the four wheelers. Tony will talk with State Parks about the future of Operation
Shore Patrol.
Still looking for a chairman for the Rose Festival Float towing.
New Business: Teresa will check with the Tillamook State Forest about what is available
for a delegates meeting.
Club Reports :
Dirt Minions are working on the 503 doing cleanup. Meet Tuesday at Roundtable Pizza.
Flat Broke Flyer for the October Rally is on Face Book. Region 3 donated a Trash a Roo
for the Rally.
Hubs In working on the Flat Broke Rally
Mud a Rama working on the Flat Broke Rally
Pistons Wild working on trails and getting ready for the Off Road Show at Woody’s.
PNW Individual Members attended Operation Shore Patrol
Sand Fleas working on the Flat Broke Rally
Trailbreakers attended Operation Shore Patrol
Vancouver 4 Wheelers went to Nicoli, attended Overbored Playday and Operation Shore
Patrol. Leaving for a 2 day run at Naches this weekend.
Reminder that Sunday, September 25 is the Memorial for Bob Brooks.
