In most all forests, ML 1 roads have been "closed" since the early 90's. The catch is that cross country travel was allowed, so in reality they were closed, but still available for use. With the elimination of cross country travel, that will eliminate the use of those routes. Yes, they should be looked at for conversion to trails for the various classes, but most forests will NOT travel down that route at this time. We will probably have to fight that fight as the periodic "looksees" and updates are done.
