Walt Jessen, a member of the Trailbreakers, Inc. of Longview, past away on October 13, 2010 at St. Johns Hospital. Walt was an active and longtime member of the PNW and Region 3.

Every year Walt and Tony towed floats for the Portland Rose Parade. Linda went along to make sure they woke up early enough to get the floats to their destination.

Walt was Linda’s designated driver, making sure that Linda got where she needed to be for Board meetings, Region meetings, Operation Shore Patrol and the Off Road Show .

Walt was a drag racer. He raced his CJ5, named “Hillbilly” with the Northwest Sand Competition Association for many years. Walt was a good man and a dedicated four wheeler. He was a good friend. He will be missed.

Walt leaves his wife, Linda and son, Tony. Walt will be buried at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland at a private family service. There will be a public memorial for Walt on October 23, Walt and Linda’s 40th Anniversary.

We send our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to Linda and Tony.

May we all bow our heads in a moment of silence?

RIP Walt!

My thoughts go out to his family!

I am so saddened by the loss of Walt. He was always friendly and helpful. I truly enjoyed talking with him about the "old days", as We had both been in the PNW for quite a long time. He will be missed, and I pray his family will be fine. Greg Peters, Salem Jeep Club
