WHAT IS TRAIL JAMBOREE?

Whether you're a novice driver with a stock rig or an experienced driver with a custom vehicle, we've got trails that will challenge and excite you. From mild trails to moderate trails and even challenging trails with hill climbs and side hills, there's no shortage of fun and adventure to be had.

But Trail Jamboree isn't just about four-wheeling, unless you want it to be! There are plenty of opportunities for fishing, hiking, wildlife watching, photography, and just plain relaxing. So bring the whole family and enjoy a weekend of fun in the great outdoors.

You'll also get to meet a variety of people from the Pacific Northwest and beyond, creating memories and connections that will last a lifetime.

And the best part? Trail Jamboree is the primary fundraiser for the PNW4WDA, so you'll be supporting a great cause while having the time of your life.

Trail Jamboree is based out of Jim Sprick Park in the community of Nile, located between mile markers 103 & 104 on Hwy 410 in eastern Washington. Surrounded by the stunning Cascade Mountains and the Naches River, it's the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable weekend.

Includes one vehicle, one driver, one passenger, five nights camping (Tuesday-Saturday), dinner on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, entertainment on Saturday night, Thursday events, and a pancake breakfast on Sunday hosted by the Wandering Willy's Jeep Club (voluntary donations accepted for the breakfast). General Participant (Non-PNW4WDA Member) - $450

The $500 fee covers the admission fees of the five-member trail host team, as well as a sponsor (i.e. you) one vehicle, and one passenger. Additional passengers are extra; prices are indicated on the registration sheet. Admission fees include five nights camping (Tuesday-Saturday), dinner on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, entertainment on Saturday night, Thursday events, and a pancake breakfast on Sunday hosted by the Wandering Willy's Jeep Club (voluntary donations accepted for the breakfast). Additional passengers are extra.

As the campground sponsor, your company banner and logo will be posted throughout the campground and gathering areas.

Thursday, July 11th is our official Vendor Day!

As a PNW4WDA Trail Jamboree Event Vendor you will be supplied with a vendor display area, 5 nights camping Tuesday-Saturday, three dinners (2 people) Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, Sunday breakfast hosted by the Wandering Willy's Jeep Club (voluntary donations accepted for the breakfast). Event vendor space does not include trail runs. While Thursday is our official Vendor Day, you are welcome to stay set up for the full event. Display areas are available on a reserved basis. We have established booths in the main gathering area, spaces for EZ-ups and/or trailers. Most spaces are approximately 10x10. However, we will work with you based on your set-up needs.

CANCELATION/REFUND POLICY

CANCELATION/REFUND POLICY:

A $25.00 cancelation fee will be charged for cancelations received by May 1st, 2025. A 50% cancelation fee will be charged for cancelations received May 2, 2025 thru June 1, 2025. No refunds will be issued after June 1, 2025. All cancelation requests must be received in writing by emailing trailjamreservations@pnw4wda.org. All pre-paid merchandise is non-refundable. You are responsible to have someone pick it up for you or, we can mail it (you are responsible for postage cost). Membership Fees for non-member registration are non-refundable, your membership will continue for 2025.

TRAIL JAMBOREE RULES

All good things still have rules! These rules are designed to make the event safer and more enjoyable for all who attend. They will be enforced.

General Rules:

All vehicles registered for the Jamboree must be street legal, licensed, insured and equipped as prescribed for specific trips prior to the mandatory technical inspection. Proof of insurance is required - no exceptions.
The PNW is not responsible for accidents, damage, or injury to persons or vehicles. All drivers must be licensed and are responsible for the occupants of that vehicle. All occupants must be registered, paid for, and sign a waiver.
Registration stickers shall be clearly visible on the front passenger side of registered vehicles during the entire Jamboree.
Only registered vehicles shall be permitted to travel on trails included in the Jamboree.
Running a non-assigned trail anytime during Jamboree may result in disqualification from participation during this and future Jamborees, as it jeopardizes our permit.
Make sure you always maintain visual contact with the vehicle behind you on trail rides. Stop and wait at intersections for the vehicle behind you.
Weapons of any kind are not permitted in vehicles or at camp.
Consumption of alcohol is not permitted on trails.
Dogs are discouraged, but if brought must be on a leash at all times. Owners are responsible for cleanup of all droppings. Service animals only are allowed in the vendor/stage area during mealtimes.
The campsite opens to participants on Tuesday, unless additional camping fees are paid (Additional nights, beginning the Sunday prior to Jamboree are $20.00 per night payable at registration).
Please minimize driving in campground. All drivers must be licensed.5 MPH speed limit will be enforced in camp.
No ATV (motorcycles, quads, SxS, etc.) riding in the campground.
No vehicles, bicycles or dogs allowed on grass in booth/stage area. As stated above, no animals will be allowed in the booth/stage area during meal times (exception service animals).
The campsite gate will be unmanned 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM beginning on Tuesday, July 9th.
Drones will be used during Trail Jamboree.
No Side by Sides are allowed at Trail Jamboree (Campground and/or Trails) per our permit.
GMRS Radios are the authorized form of communication for Trail Jamboree.
The emergency frequency for the GMRS radios will be channel 22 or 462.725, we have a Repeater station set up to monitor that frequency.
You are responsible for your conduct and the conduct of your guests and registered party.

Technical Inspection:

General condition tech (steering, brakes on all wheels, lights).
Primary elements for street legal status (licensed, current registration, turn signals, rear view mirrors, working lights, exhaust system).
Dimension requirements as noted in trail descriptions.

The following items are not required, but it is a good idea to carry them with you, whenever you are on the trail:

Vehicles not meeting minimum requirements will not be allowed on the trail.

*Rimrock trip vehicles will be subject to additional inspection: 6 point roll cage, lockers front & rear, winch, oversized/aggressive tires, GMRS, spare parts & an experienced driver.

USFS requires spark arrestor on ALL vehicles. Glass packs or any straight-through mufflers that do not include spark arrestor certification are not allowed.

Campground Rules

1. No wood campfires in the camping area.
2. Please conserve space. Park trailers and extra vehicles in spots unusable for camping.
3. Leave access roads and Fire Lanes open.
4. The campground will be full, please reserve only as much space as needed.
5. Do not block access to campsites. Vehicles blocking access will be asked to move or towed at the owner’s expense.
6. A 24x24 platform must be used under the leveling jacks for the RVs... to keep them from damaging the lawn and sprinkler system.
7. Quiet time is 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM for generators, music, and general noise. Please respect your neighbors - there are early trail departure times.

Guest Rules

1. Guest meals are available for $25.00 per person, per meal at registration on a limited basis.
2. Guests must be sponsored by and are the responsibility of a Host or Participant.
3. Guests may not bring a trail vehicle or participate in trail runs.
4. Guests must abide by all rules.
5. Thursday, public has been invited from 9am-4pm for the vendor day.

TRAIL JAMBOREE 2025 REGISTRATION

TRAIL JAMBOREE 2025 PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION WILL OPEN MARCH 15TH, 2025 AT 8AM.

Description:

The Pacific Northwest 4 Wheel Drive Trail Jamboree is an annual event held in Naches, Washington. The Jamboree is based at Jim Sprick Park in the Nile community located between mile markers 103 and 104 on Hwy 410 in Eastern Washington. While at Jamboree you are surrounded by four-wheel drive trails, the historic Naches Trail, towering rock cliffs, Ponderosa pines, wildlife, and the Naches River. Arrive on Tuesday to set up camp. Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday our Trail Hosts will lead you to the trail of your choosing. Currently there are 15 different trails to choose from with ratings from 1-10. There is a trail for every skill level. You will be able to sign up for your trails as you register. The Chairman will do their best to accommodate your requests.

Each evening there is a drivers meeting for the following days trail runs. Our event includes 3 dinners, Wednesday night, Friday night, and Saturday night with Saturday evening entertainment, and Sunday breakfast. Thursday is Vendor Day with a 4x4 show, demonstrations, activities and more... We have an ice cream social, door prizes, give-a-ways, contests, demonstrations, campfire (fire restrictions permitting), and time to spend with old and new friends. The campground is an open field, some trees for shade, and a tent area. Pay showers and restroom, potable water and port-a-potties are onsite. There are no RV hookups; however, we offer a septic pumping service on Wednesday and Friday for a fee. The park opens for Jamboree on Tuesday. If you want to arrive earlier, event staff will collect an additional camping fee of $25.00 per camping unit per night. There are four-wheel drive trails for all experience levels. So, sign up, come to Naches and go wheeling! See what the beautiful Pacific Northwest has to offer..

TRAIL DESCRIPTIONS

These trails may have to be altered due to forest fire damage, etc.

Trail descriptions are designed to assist you in making educated decisions on which trails to run. A rating of 10 is negotiable by vehicles with significant difficulty and high probability of damage, even for built vehicles that have aftermarket equipment: suspension lifts, locking differentials and aggressive off road tires. On trails rated 8 or 9, a fully stock vehicle may require significant assistance and may be damaged. The ratings assume the driver has off-road driving experience. Drivers will accept the assistance of other drivers, will drive under control and at speeds that will keep tires in contact with the trail. Ratings assume the trails will be dry, but not extremely dusty. If it rains, the trail difficulty increases exponentially.

BALD MOUNTAIN/MANASTASH RIDGE

Easy to moderately difficult, depending upon vehicle type and optional routes selected along the way. This route is suitable for full sized vehicles. Trail is smooth in places, very rutted and bumpy in others, tight in the trees and rocky in other segments. It offers open meadows, scenic views of the Stewart Range, Cascade Crest, Mount Rainier, Mount Adams and the agricultural valleys to the South. Driving time is about six hours. There are several options in this area and the group composition (vehicle types and driving skills) will determine the exact route taken. Difficulty Level = 2-4 for short wheelbase / 4-5 for SUVs / 5-6 for full size rigs.

DIVIDE

This trail is popular with families looking for a moderately difficult challenge with great views of the surrounding terrain. It illustrates the contrasts between forests and meadows with views of Manastash Ridge. Time available & conditions will determine the return route? If time is a premium, the group will take USFS roads back to camp. This trip covers a lot of ground, so expect a long day. Suitable for rigs less than 82 inches in width. Difficulty Level = 4-5. Not recommended for full size vehicles.

HISTORIC NACHES PASS

This trail follows most of the route taken by the Ezra Meeker Wagon Train (aka the Longmire Wagon Train) over the Cascade Mountains in 1853. Trail conditions are varied, expect to navigate through dry, wet & loose rocky sections. There are some steep grades, but generally the trail is level. There can be significant amounts of water, depending upon the weather, so some sections are bridged to reduce rutting. A segment on the West Side straddles a narrow ridge, with commanding views of Mount Rainier and the surrounding territory. The trail travels between clear-cut and old growth forests. If the weather is wet, the trail difficulty goes up exponentially. The trail has a seasonal closure on the West Side through 07/15, but Jamboree participants are allowed to use the full trail (subject to change by USFS). Suitable for rigs less than 82 inches in width. Difficulty Level = 5 for short wheelbase & 7 for SUVs. Not recommended for full size vehicles.

CLOVER SPRINGS/MUD SPRINGS

All three days - Travel via USFS road to Clover Springs, approximately 20 miles. Stop along the way at Little Bald Mountain and view Flat Iron Lake & Old Scab Mountain. Travel along the ridge trail to Mud Springs. Return over USFS logging roads. Trail is very scenic and fairly smooth. This route is suitable for full sized vehicles. Drive time is approximately four to five hours round trip. Most of the 4x4 trail follows the William O. Douglas Wilderness boundary and offers commanding views of the wilderness area & the Cascade Crest in the distance. Forest scenes are varied, ranging from lowland forest to high elevation, sub-alpine. The USFS roads may be very dusty if weather has been unusually dry. Difficulty Level = 5 for short wheelbase / 7 for SUVs / 8+ for full size rigs.

FUNNY ROCKS/MOON ROCKS

Due to the busy weekend traffic, the FS limits this trip to Thursday & Friday only! Funny Rocks is a large formation of smooth sandstone and nearby Moon Rocks looks like an asteroid plopped down in the middle of the forest. If you fancy yourself a rockcrawler, it is a great place to play that can?t be found anywhere else in the area! This trip is suitable for full sized vehicles and offers challenges for everyone. The drive up to the rock formations is fairly mild, but the difficulty level can quickly go up depending on the routes chosen through the rocky playground. Difficulty Level = 6-10+ for all vehicles.

SHOESTRING/UPPER KANER-WESTBOUND

This trip offers virtually everything: rocks, mud, side hills, tight trees, hill climbs. There are also several small creek crossings. Very scenic, extremely popular & very challenging. Most rigs with oversized tires can negotiate the trail in this direction, even with open differentials. Driving time is generally at least eight hours round trip. Suitable for rigs less than 82 inches in width. Difficulty Level = 8-9. Not recommended for full size vehicles.

KANER/QUARTZ-EASTBOUND

The rating is due largely to a long & very steep climb on the Upper Kaner that is very difficult to negotiate with a stock vehicle, even with oversized tires and suspension lift. Winching assistance may be required. Most vehicles with OEM highway all season tires will require extensive winching and may be damaged. Quartz is a ridge top trail with commanding views of the Cascade Crest, the Stewart Range & Mount Rainier once you get to the top. Suitable for rigs less than 82 inches in width. Difficulty Level = 9-10. Not recommended for full size vehicles.

ROCKY SADDLE

This trail was designed for short wheelbase vehicles with lockers front and rear, a full roll cage, aggressive tires, a GMRS and a winch. For experienced drivers only! There is a high risk of vehicle damage. Plan for a long day! Suitable for rigs less than 82 inches in width. Difficulty Level = 9-10. Not recommended for full size vehicles.

RIMROCK

The trails in the Rimrock Lake area are VERY difficult and recommended for the experienced driver only! The trails are known for being very tight, off-camber with steep hill climbs & descents? Expect windshield damage. However, the scenery is incredible and worth the effort. Rigs wanting to run these trails will require additional technical inspection: 6 point roll cage, lockers front & rear, winch, oversized/aggressive tires, GMRS, spare parts & an experienced driver. The trail head is 40 miles away via HWY410 & HWY12? Rigs need to be able to cruise at 55 mph. However, trailering your rig might be an option (contact your host club the night before to verify). Plan for an early departure and a very long day! Suitable for rigs less than 80 inches in width. Difficulty Level = 10+. Not recommended for full size vehicles. The trail host club will determine final eligibility.

LOWER KANER/MILK LAKE

This trail rating is due mainly to two long and steep hill climbs. The trail starts on Lower Kaner and travels to Lilly Pond. From there you travel to Milk Creek Road, up Milk Creek Trail. At the top you will enjoy beautiful mountain and lake views. Difficulty Level = 8-9. Not recommended for full size vehicles.

COPPER CITY

Enjoy a scenic drive through an ancient mining community. A short walk will take you to the mouth of the Copper City Mine. Difficulty Level + 2-4. Not recommended for full size vehicles.

LITTLE RATTLESNAKE

The Little Rattlesnake Trail has not been offered for several years and will run Wednesday only. This trail is designed for vehicles with a maximum width of 75” and maximum wheelbase of 95” due to tight and twisty terrain. Difficulty Level = 5-7.

MAIN RATTLESNAKE

The trail is approximately 3 miles in length and is very scenic and ends at a wilderness boundary. You will return the same route as this trail ends at a camp site with views of a clear and cold swimming hole. If the weather is hot, plan on a refreshing dip while taking a lunch break. Definitely a family trip with easy rolling terrain. Difficulty Level = 2-4 for short wheelbase / 4-5 for SUVs / 5-6 for full size rigs.

WHEELING 101- (Wednesday Only)

Are you new to 4 Wheeling or could use a refresher? This trail led by Tim Lund (Certified Trail Trainer) will first go over basic wheeling knowledge such as; when to engage 4WD, winching technique, and more. Followed by a trail run where you can apply what you have learned. Difficulty Level = 2-4 for all all size vehicles.

As a trail host sponsor, your fee pays the entry fee of one group of trail hosts. The trail hosts lead the participants on the trail, and make sure they have a fun and safe time. You can ask the host club to put signage (i.e. stickers) on their vehicles. Host groups will post signs in their camping area, noting their sponsor. In addition, your company will be listed on the sponsorship flyer placed in the check-in packet, and mentioned in PA announcements during the dinners, and entertainment on Saturday evening. A Trail host sponsor may able to be on the trails with a Host club to hand out promotional materials and demonstrate products. The trail host groups are members of the PNW4WDA. Jamboree Merchandise:
Trail Jamboree preordered merchandise is available to be picked up at the Jamboree registration booth. Additional Trail Jamboree merchandise will be available on a limited basis. Pacific Northwest 4 Wheel Drive Association Ways and Means will be selling non-Trail Jamboree merchandise in their booth located in the vendor/stage area.

Camping:
The Jamboree camping is in an open field; there are some trees for shade. Pay showers, flush toilets, potable water, and port-a-potties are on-site. There are no RV hook-ups. However, RV dump service will be available Wednesday and Friday of the event for a fee. Pre-Camping available beginning 2:00pm on Monday July 7th.

Please note that the park opens for Jamboree participants on Tuesday. If you arrive earlier, Jamboree staff will collect an additional camping fee of $25.00 per camping unit per night.

Weather:
While the Yakima area's average temperatures in July range from about 50-98°, be prepared for all types of weather. Check the local forecast as the event nears to help make sure you are adequately prepared.

Vehicle Requirements:
BRING YOUR INSURANCE CARD FOR YOUR TRAIL VEHICLE! PROOF OF INSURANCE IS REQUIRED! NO PROOF OF INSURANCE, NO DRIVING ON THE TRAIL! NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.

All trail vehicles will undergo a technical inspection for the following:

General condition tech (steering, brakes, lights);
Primary elements for street legal status (licensed, insured, current registration, turn signals, rear view mirrors, working lights, exhaust system).
Dimension requirements as noted in trail descriptions.
USFS requires spark arrestor on ALL vehicles. Glass packs or any straight-through mufflers that do not include spark arrestor are not allowed.

Vehicles not meeting minimum requirements will not be allowed on the trail and no refund will be issued.
*Rimrock trip vehicles will be subject to additional inspection: lockers, winch and 6-point roll cage.

Rules:
The Trail Jamboree rules are designed to make the event safer and more enjoyable for all. They will be enforced. The rules are available online and in the hard copy upon request. By attending the event you admit you have read the rules and agree to abide by them.

Calendar of Events:
A tentative calendar of events is available online and in the hard-copy registration materials. Final copies will be distributed at Jamboree.

Door prizes will be given away Thursday for kids, Friday for adults (posted at registration booth). Each registered driver receives an entry for the door prize drawing. Everyone has an equal chance of winning. Please make sure to list the ages of your registered kids as we try to make prizes age appropriate.

A raffle will be held on Saturday evening. Raffle tickets can be purchased up until the drawing.
